Yesterday was also cleaning day, meaning my dorm had to be thoroughly cleaned. My suite checked out friday night instead so we would have time to "study" on Saturday.
At Midnight, Liz & Evangeline blindfolded me, brought me to the commons and screamed/sang happy birthday out the windows. Right as they finished the song a giant bolt of lightening cracked against the sky. When they finished counting to 19, I heard thunder. It was surreal.
I had to wake up at 9 to help clean the hallway. Lauren crawled into bed with me and sang happy birthday. It made me laugh, which also helped wake me up. As the hall was cleaning, Liz & Lauren showed up, demanding I get dressed and leave with them. They blindfolded me and had me walk all around campus in the rain, finally leading me to the Admissions Office where golf carts are parked out front. I've been saying all year I've always wanted to drive a golf cart, and I got my wish. It was so much fun and kudos to the admissions reps for letting us do that.
I was forced into wearing fairy wings and a crown at lunch and dinner. I got lots of funny stares. At dinner, my whole hall sang happy birthday to me and Evangeline had made a cake.
I got blindfolded a third time at night and was driven down the mountain to go to City Cafe with friends. I have to say, I really don't like being blindfolded. But it payed off.
I got lots of really sweet cards and presents too. I got a journal, picture frames, grow your own herbs, play-doh (don't judge me!) and "The Guerilla Art Kit" ("everything you need to put your message out into the world. For fun, non-profit, and world domination.")
It was a great day. I had a lot of fun and I have a lot of amazing friends for doing everything they did.
Now, back to reality. I have two finals tomorrow to study for. Ah!
